Christ Community: Barn Project

We are very pleased for the action of Mennonite Disaster Service and Mennonite Men to commend us to the congregation for voluntary service work on our "new church" made out of an "old barn"! We invite you to have a part in resurrecting to new life an old barn. Visit Rehabilitating Our Barn in 2003 to find out more about the work we have completed and still have remaining. What better way is there to experience the fellowship of believers than "raising a roof" together? Our church has been blessed from the generosity of Mennonite church teams that have come, not only with expertise but with hardworking hands and willing hearts. We are especially blessed by Lee Lehman, a recently retired Lee Lehman working on wooden beams to entranceway contractor and former President of the Oregon Builders Association for volunteering to be our Construction Manager. Lee is from Albany, Oregon where he has served as a Mennonite Disaster Service volunteer and supervised volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. He has been with us for over a year sharing his talents and invaluable experience working with volunteers and area contractors. Lee is staying with family in the Chicago area but misses his wife who is working back home.
